Two Words

Knitting. Soccer. That's all my weekend consisted of. Knitting lots, watching lots of soccer. It was fab.

If I had to add a third word it would be asparagus. I peeled asparagus until I was blue in the face. That part wasn't so fab because I hate asparagus.

I believe my French butter dish should arrive tomorrow. Look forward to a pictorial spread touting its wonderfulness.

A pox on asparagus. We're all asparagused out here so I don't have to peel any more, thank goodness. Did you know that June 21 is Spargelsilvester - the end of the season and we can all rest easy.

I know I'll be coveting the French butter dish. I always put our rock-hard butter in the microwave where it gets all soupy in the middle. Not a pretty sight.

Which is your team? Or are you just watching the beautiful game with no agenda?

Christiana - I hate asparagus so I'm not usually the one cooking it - my MIL takes care of it. However I took pity on her and told her I'd peel 2 kilos for her to cook and she'd give me some for B because he loves it.

The butter dish didn't come today. Maybe tomorrow. I'll tell you how I like it when I get it all set up. I bought it from a pottery shop in Bayern so if I dig it, you can get one for yourself.

Snooker - Deutschland, baby, all the way! :)

Oops. I seem to have given you an extra A in your name, Christina. This is what I get for typing and chatting with B at the same time.

How stupid do I feel that I didn't know you peeled asaragus?

Apparently not that stupid for mentioning it, but seriously, you peel it?

Oh yeah, you gotta peel this stuff. The outside is tough and sort of woody.

You know when I lived in America I never fooled with asparagus. My ex only liked green asparagus from a can so all I knew to do was take it out of the can, put it in a dish and microwave it a couple minutes.

The asparagus you find in Germany is white, it's generally thicker than the asparagus you find in America and it's got a woody...what do you call it? Rind? Anyway, you have to peel it. And it takes forty-nine forevers for me to peel 2 kilos.
