About Me
- Name: Dixie
- Location: Magdeburg, Germany
Can a woman from Mississippi meet and marry a German quadriplegic, move there without first knowing the language, leave behind all she's known and loved and be forced to live without Hellmann's mayonnaise, stores open on Sundays, southern accents, magnolias, and her beloved family and friends nearby? Sure. Is it easy? Not really. Is it worth it? Most definitely.

Wait a second...
Euro2008 already started? You wouldn't know it by walking around the suburbs of Basel. I can honestly say that it's pretty much life as usual around here.
I'm very surprised.
I've seen that on TV. It's nearly the same in Austria except last night's tie did boost their mood. I guess it's hard to get in the party mood when you know your team is one of the two weakest teams in the tournament.
Over here in Miami my 18 year old & his buddies are watching the games and enjoying every minute of it.
TBF that is random, Lausanne is a freakin mess and we don't even have matches!
One of my good friends is Croatian-Canadian and made the poor decision of vacationing in Germany this week. She now claims Canada if anyone asks, so as not to get offed. Nice Husband, another binational of convenience, is now claiming Algeria out of sheer shame for the way France got their behinds handed to them by Holland.
Personally I root for Holland, I have an orange purse and everything right now. Watching France lose like that was painful for me, though
